Biography

I live in the Southside of Glasgow with my lovely husband and son, having previously stayed in Edinburgh for seven years. I love both cities!

I am a graduate of Glasgow School of Art with a degree in Embroidered and Woven Textiles Design.

This background has influenced my use of texture in my paintings, and also fuels a fascination with subject matter which is naturally textured, such as new work using studies of Trees and the rugged surfaces of rock formations in my Seascapes

The technique I use involves creating a textured surface with tissue paper. This is painted over with acrylic, and then oil pastel is rubbed into specific areas to reveal the contrasting areas of surface texture.
